It all started because of Book Club at Soul Sentiments Mixed-Media Store. There on the table – staring at me – beckoning me like the song of an Art Supply Siren – the new Seth Apter iZink products. I must say that I closed my ears to the Siren and demonstrated some restraint as I made my selections. The truth is that I wanted one of everything but I reminded myself that it’s good to have something to look forward to. But, oh, the song of the Art Supply Siren is powerful!!!

During this episode of our LIVE stream, Drama-free Friday, I began with a freshly gessoed canvas page in the Dina Wakley Media Journal. When the gesso dried, I used a couple of stencils with iZink Dye Sprays by Seth Apter in the colors Sunflower, Wild Rose, Blue Moon and the positively delicious color Goldmine. Oh, be still my heart! What a glorious metallic gold that is!! (NOTE TO SELF: Buy another one of those ASAP!)

Next, I cracked open the three colors of iZink ICE paints in Sunshine, Rose, and Blue Ocean. My intention was to use a small Gelli® Plate to add color, but the texture of the canvas was creating a bigger challenge that I wanted to deal with so I’ll save those beauties for another day. I plan to use them during on the next Drama-free Friday, so be sure to join me Friday at 2pm Eastern.

Deco Art Americana paints did the trick for adding color and additional layers of goodness to the page along with a bit of stamping with Seth’s Loopers stamps by Impression Obsession.

Now What??? When that question pops up, I look around to see what’s close by and there it was . . . the silliest face ever! I’d torn it out of a free magazine just this morning and it fit perfectly on the page. Serendipity! I cut the face apart to eliminate all the extra stuff so more of the art journal page background could show. I glued it in place, added a little shadow around the edges, some Sakura Glaze Pens and Posca Paint Pen details. The only thing left to do –  find appropriate (or inappropriate words) 😉 Oh, and I extended the canvas page, which shrank as it dried, by creating a painted and stitched deli-paper ruffle.

I’m having such a good time creating these art journal pages LIVE with the best viewers on the Internet! I hope you can join us next week!

Until Then ~
