Scrap Art Journal Backgrounds

Welcome! It’s so nice to have you stop by today.

If you've been working with paper (or fabric) for even a short period of time, I’m sure you’ll accumulate a box or two of scraps because, you know, they’re too pretty and nice to throw away! 😉 A container of gorgeous colors and textures provides a palette with which to “paint” new backgrounds in your Art Journal.

During this episode of Drama-free Friday I created 2 pages of backgrounds. HINT: I often think the backgrounds I create are the worst things I’ve ever put together until I’ve had a good night’s sleep. I think someone sneaks into my studio and works some kind of magic because somehow it’s no longer so ugly. In fact, I even like it! How does that happen??

If I’m totally honest with you, creating backgrounds in an Art Journal is the fun part for me – especially when I don’t have a plan. I get in the zone of creating just for the sake of being creative. If I’m trying to achieve a certain result, I’m seldom very happy with the outcome.

I hope you enjoy watching this recorded LIVE stream and that you might find something to try that you hadn’t thought about before.

For fun, I’ve created a NEW Mandala for you to download and color. You are free to use it, but please do not sell the design. It’s just for you. 😉 Enjoy! **Example Below**

Please join me every Friday LIVE for another episode of Drama-free Friday. We get together at 2 pm Eastern and I’d love to chat with you while we Get Creative.

PS – Remember that we have 2 full-length multi-class courses for you – Mining Your Muse and Mandala Madness. And, we have several eBooks of patterns, too. You can find all of them in our SHOP.

Until next time ~

Remember to Get Creative today! It's Easy!
