Did you know that Fun Faces Rubber Stamps include 4 images? I showed how to create with the first of my Fun Faces images during the last episode of Drama-free Friday. Viewers voted to see the other 3 images, so that's what we did.
The process is the same for each face, although some of the colored pencil colors vary. Cotton fabric is fused to card stock and cut to the desired size. Next, I used King Tut Thread to zig zag stitch around the outer edges. I stamped each image with Archival Ink. If the darker is fabric in color, you'll need to use a darker shade of ink.
I like to use Pigma Micron Pens in brown and black to begin detailing the stamps. You'll see that in the video.
All color is added with Prisamacolor Premier Pencils. I don't know how other colored pencils react on fabric because I've always used Prismacolor pencils. I love the way they blend with my finger on fabric! If you use other brands of pencils, I'd love to hear about your results. Just pop a comment in the box below and let me know.
A quick, light spray of Krylon Workable Fixatif (outside) will help protect the artwork.
The hair on Otivern and Hilary is sheep's wool curls. I like it because the scale of the fiber works well with these little faces. To apply the finished card fronts to the Simply Solid card bases, I use 1/4″ Scor Tape.
I hope you'll join me LIVE! each Friday at 2pm Eastern.
Until next time ~
