In case you were wondering, Fun Faces Rubber Stamps are still available! The supply is dwindling, so don't wait to get yours. During Drama-free Friday I showed quite a few examples using the Fun Faces Stamps. Let your imagination enjoy the possibilities.
Clausman (aka R. L., my hubster) carved a beautiful Hummingbird eating from a flower and I painted a good portion of the sculpture LIVE while visiting with viewers and answering questions.
I certainly don't claim to be an ornithologist, so my rendition of a Hummingbird probably has things in common with several different species. 😉
I always enjoy having good reference material around when painting birds and some of my favorites include:
- Songbird Painting Projects by David Mohrhardt
- How to Paint Songbirds by David Mohrhardt
- Painting Garden Birds by Sherry C. Nelson
The Hummingbird, flower bloom and leaves are individually carved from Bass Wood (also known as Linden Wood). The stem for the leaves is created with Epoxy. The base is driftwood and Red Cedar.
Thanks, as always, for joining me LIVE for Drama-free Friday – every Friday at 2pm Eastern.
Until next time ~
