Ustream Rebroadcast: Shaped Angel Book
In spite of a Internet gremlins during the regular broadcast, I was able to record the process! Yay!! The inspiration for this project began with mixed-media artist Sherrill Kahn. She authored an article in the November/December 2002 issue of Somerset Studio. Anyone who enjoys mixed-media NEEDS her books. 😉 (Check out the links below.)
When the show was over, I added beads and charms to the binding threads, sprayed the pages with acrylic ink sprays and edged the pages with stamp ink and a sponge.
I began thinking about using the same image as gift tags. I stamped it with black ink, scanned it into my computer and resized it. Next, I printed it on 90lb. watercolor paper, cut them out, glued to black card stock and then added watercolor paper behind the cardstock. From there, I colored them with markers and Lumiere paints.
Supplies
This was a fun project! If you reduce the book, I think it would make a sweet ornament, too.
Please join me on Friday at 2pm eastern. I'd love to meet you and chat with you!
I'd love to see and share any photos you'd like to tweet @BarbOwenDesigns.
