Woo Hoo! We've had 2 weeks in a row of Drama-free Friday that's really been drama free! We could be on a roll here!

If you've followed me for any length of time, you'll know how much I love books – all kinds of books. I love books that I purchase and also those that I create myself. As I was cleaning and reorganizing part of my studio this week, I found lots of stuff that needs a home, so I decided to create a BIG art journal to house at least part of them.

This journal is not an orthodox bookbinding technique as you'll see in the video. 🙂 The cover is created from upholstery or drapery fabric that I had in my stash. I like Canson Mix-media paper, so I purchased a new large pad and cut the pages down to the size I wanted. After punching the binding holes, I stitched the signatures into the cover. It worked great!

I decorated the cover with butterflies which are die cut from recycled denim that I embossed and inked, too. It was a lot of fun to create!

I LOVE seeing what you create, too. Feel free to tweet photos of your art to me @BarbOwenDesigns.

Please join me LIVE each Drama-free Friday at 2pm Eastern. You never know what we'll be doing so come find out. 😉

Until next time. . .
