Do you get obsessed with an idea? I do and I hope I'm not the only one!! Apparently I'm obsessed with old denim jeans, I can't seem to stop myself. 😉

Gratefully, Drama-free Friday was indeed drama free! I showed several examples of my journals created with various recycled materials before beginning a “new” recycled journal made from the leg of a pair of jeans. After cutting and stitching the cover, I decided that old brown paper bags would make interesting pages for this journal.

I also discovered a fun little watch pocket that was the perfect addition to the cover. The pocket still functions, so it can hold a pen, pencil, small stencils, etc.

The brown paper signatures are stitched to the cover with waxed linen using a the pamphlet stitch.

Supplies

I love the way these journals turned out and I can't wait to start filling them up!

If you'd like to share your creative projects with me, feel free to tweet them @BarbOwenDesigns. I'd love to see and share them, too.

Until next Drama-free-Friday at 2pm Eastern ~
