Acrylics, Punches and Inspiration Cards

Sometimes it’s just fun to grab a box of supplies and try to re-imagine them! That’s what happened during this Drama-free Friday LIVE stream. The viewers helped me choose one of the cards from our Mandala Madness Inspiration Cards to use as inspiration for this Art Journal page. I applied some acrylic paint with a baby wipe to create the basic background. Then a couple of stencils with a little more paint readied the surface for some serious fun!

I pulled out a box of paper punches and a stack of Paste Papers that I’d previously created and began punching out a variety of small shapes. After gluing paper shapes to the background to form rudimentary Mandalas, out came the Posca Paint Pens, Sakura Glaze Pens and Sakura Moonlight Gelly Roll Pens. With each stroke, the paper shapes became more cohesive and before I knew it, time had disappeared and the page was finished. A little splattered pigment on the opposite page along with a meaningful quote and we’re ready to take on a new page next week.

Be sure to join me each Friday at 2pm Eastern for an episode of Drama-free Friday. See you next week in the LIVE show?
